Instructions

Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay. Did you know that written text can also be art? I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like.

Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on my page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. Although I would like for you to write as much as you can, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 8:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.

On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although we may occasionally use some of your blog entries for grammar practice, these blogs are primarily focused on content. Have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

Question #5: Your Birthday!

Do any of you have a birthday coming up?  In my case, mine already passed in May, and it was my first birthday as a mom.  It was a little surreal, but I definitely loved it!

How do you feel when it is your birthday?  Do you feel excited?  Sad?  Indifferent?  Is the way you feel about your birthday now any different from the way you felt when you were younger?  Do you celebrate your birthday any differently?

    In my case, in this year I receipt the notice about CSUF in the same week of my birthday. I celebrated too, all my family and all my friends made a big party in my house, it was very great for me. I love birthdays, the celebration , the food, the drinks, all about it. But, next year I will go the first year that I will go away of everybody. But I will do planes for a celebration here, in America.

      Wow! Your birthday this year was totally a time for celebration! It must have been a memorable day. I look forward to hearing how you spend your birthday here in the United States. I am sure it will be just as memorable!

    My birthday soon on Nov 9 . When I was child I feel verey excited abuot my birthday but now less than before
    but ths birthday may be I feel sad because this my first time i celebrate without my family and my girl friend :(

    My birthday already passed this year. It was July 5th.My close friends and family celebrated my birthday.They gave me a lot of presents.
    When I was younger, I felt excited and happy about my birthday.
    Recently I am sad because I do not want to get older.
    I will get sadder every year...:(

      Haha, I understand how you feel, Maki! LIke yourself, I used to get really excited around the time of my birthday. Now, I simply accept and acknowledge the reality. You still look extremely young, so do not worry!

    I am really happy on my birthday month and I cannot wait or my birthday because I was borne at 15th of December and it is too late...I have to wait 15 days until my birthday coming. In my family birthday is the important day, if some one forget birthday of each person in family it is very bad for him/her, SO in my family we celebrate all of our birthday. :D

    My birthday is December 8th. This year I don't come it yet. So I'm first time to spend in another country. I'm looking forward to my birthday. But I think everyone don't know my birthday, so I'm worry. Lol Every year I always feel so happy in my birthday!!!! Because my parents, fiends, and boyfriend always celebrate me, and they give me may presents and messages. So I can have a great time in this day.

    My birthday is April 23th.I am indifferent to my birthday. we do not celebrate Christmas.This is our culture.I'm indifferent because I have never celebrated.
