Instructions

Do you like art? If so, what kind of art? If we think about it, we all like art in some shape or form. For some, art is a beautiful oil painting on canvas. To another, art is expressed through dance, while to another, it is expressed through one's fingers as one molds and shapes new objects made with clay. Did you know that written text can also be art? I would like all of you to be artists with the freedom to express yourselves in any way that you would like.

Every Monday morning, I will post a topic on my blog, which you are reading these instructions from. Once you have read my topic, you will need to leave a comment on my page. However, this "comment" should be more than one sentence. It should be your response to the question I am posting on my blog. I would really like to encourage you all to try to write as much as you can. Although I would like for you to write as much as you can, please do not spend more than 30 minutes writing them. If you read a comment from your classmates that you find to be interesting, feel free to comment to them as well! Lets try to make this as interactive via the Internet as possible. Your responses and comments will need to be completed by 8:00 p.m. every Friday. There will be no exception! Therefore, plan on completing this assignment before the Friday deadline in order to ensure that you receive full credit, which will be 10 points for each week.

On a final note, these blogs are intended to be fun and to allow you to further practice writing in English in a variety of avenues. Be adventurous and express yourselves! Although we may occasionally use some of your blog entries for grammar practice, these blogs are primarily focused on content. Have fun, and do not forget, all of you are artists!!

Questions #2: California is...

Some of you have been here for over a semester, whereas some of you recently came.  Now that you are here, what do you think of California?  Is it exactly as you had imagined, or is it completely different from what you had envisioned?  What did you expect California to be like? I have heard of students who expected California to be like the shows they had watched while back in their home country.

As I had mentioned before in class, I came to the United States when I was 4 years old.  However, I have lived in Southern California ever since I arrived here.  Therefore, I have to say that I have been spoiled by this weather in this part of the United States!  In the past, I did not realize how wonderful the weather is here although it may not seem so wonderful recently!  However, as I started traveling to more countries, I really came to appreciate and enjoy Southern California weather.

    It is frest trip i do .I come to U.S study English language.After that,I study M.S degree in Public Relation. next to,I like CALIFORNIA because it is very wonderful . It is the weather very nice but,some time it very hot like this days. It is big states .There are a lot of beautiful cities,like San Diego,San Francisco,Northridge,and Los Angeles.
    Finally,I love california.

      I am happy to read that you like California! Yes, there are many beautiful cities here. There are also a lot of beautiful cities that are not as well known. I hope you will be able to visit them all during your time here!

    I'm first time here in U.S. especially in California.
    It's very beautiful and it's people friendly, I came here to learn English and to study Architecture engineering in U.S.
    I like it so much :*

    California is very similar the my state. Is very hot, have beaches, the people are friendships and is a god place for travel. There is still a lot of places for travel and I go, because all my friends like travel and beautiful places. Everybody likes travel and parties and lot of people together. Next Saturday, I go to LA and I think that will a god trip, a think that us know the "Sidealk of Fame" , will be very cool

    I arrived here 3 month ago...At the firs time I was very exciting but here was very different, I did not like here at the first time because here is not like any where. Right now I like every things in this country. My sister and I went any where in California and saw every sightseeing in California...

    when I come here, I really like California. Because I have 2 reason. First, there are many exiting places. For example, there are Disney land, Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott's Belly Farm and so on. I want to go there someday!! Second it is nice weather. I don't like cold. So I fell good. But it's too hot like today too.
    When I saw too many food, I was surprised. And American people eat rice too. I didn't think they eat rice. My American imagine, they eat only hamburger!Lol I'm glad to eat rice here. But it's a little bit difference. So I'm careful to gain weight!!Lol

      Haha! Yes, American people actually do like rice. They like food from all over the world. However, you are not completely mistaken in thinking that we eat only hamburgers. We eat a lot of hamburgers! Do not worry about your weight. You look great! If anything, I think you need to gain a little weight. You are too small!!
